Without hesitation, he takes on every challenge — no matter how strong the headwind. With absolute focus and self-reflection, the Latvian world record holder in ultracycling pushes the pedals. What awards and titles have you won so far?
One of my biggest achievements was recently setting the world record for the most kilometers ridden in a week: 3,023 km in seven days. I also placed 7th in the European Ultracycling Championship, won the Race Around Poland (3,600 km), and the Giro d’Italia Nonstop. My next big goal is the Red Bull Trans-Siberian Extreme this June.

Have you ever faced difficulties?
In "real" life, I’m a P.E. teacher. After class, I hop on my bike and become a professional cyclist. This daily tension between my two jobs requires a lot of energy. After a day at school, it takes serious motivation to ride for two to eight hours.

Were you surprised by your initial Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio? Has anything changed since then?
Before Zinzino, I didn’t think much about my Omega-3 intake. I could hardly believe how bad my levels were! My Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio was 17:1, and my cell membrane permeability was 23.1. Now I understand why some cyclists face serious health issues during ultra-races.
